I feel like I've been working on this spread forever. In fact, it went through a period of me absolutely hating it before I came out on the other side with a spread I love!
I layered spray paint, ink, acrylics, collage, and paint pens to make this spread.
Lately, I'm loving finding figures in magazines and using them to express the emotions I'm feeling. While I draw original work, allowing myself to find a reflection of how I'm feeling and work over it in my art journal has helped me get more in touch with who I am and what I need. We are all different people then we were last week or last month...and I'm finding that steady check ins in my art journal have helped me chart and improve my anxiety & depression. That's why this is called 'Art Journal Check-In;' I'll be sharing these spreads throughout the year!
