I haven’t been very good at this new blogging thing, have I?
The thing is, I’ve been incredibly exhausted as of late. Not as in, I’ve been super busy and thus need more sleep, but in that my body feels eternally out of gas. No more energy here! As in, I lay down during my breaks and lunch at work — thank God for WFH — and I’m not sleeping, but waiting for my head to stop spinning and my body to stop screaming at me to rest.
I am so tired of resting.
And so, most of my energy is going towards work, and in the evenings, towards what little art I can do. I try to sneak some in before work, too, but that depends on my pain level when I wake up and how tired I am, IE how many times does Samie hit snooze?
(At least 3 times.)
The worst part of my day is at the end of my second break, when my timer goes off and I have to get back to work. It has nothing to do with my day job, which I love, but with how my body protests at having to get back by up after a day of sitting up and using my brain a lot. That takes up energy, you know! And then I’m too tired to cook, so eat something easy to make.
I guess that’s why I love doing my girl drawings — illustrations? — so much. I can sit in my recliner and simply draw with my color brush pen. Just thick, black, forgiving lines across the dotted pages of what was originally a bullet journal. Or intended to be one. I like to break the rules. And once I’ve draw them, I can relax and color!
